Academic background and areas of specialisation

Nkazimlo holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies and Public Administration, as well as an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Applied Language Studies from Nelson Mandela University. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts degree in Applied Language Studies, with her dissertation focusing on an interdisciplinary study investigating the expression of linguistic identities on social media. Her research employs methods from Digital Humanities, Corpus Linguistics, and Applied Linguistics to analyse comments on videos posted on YouTube. The Master of Arts project is expected to be completed by December 2024.

She is a member of the prestigious by-invitation only Golden Key society in acknowledgement of her academic excellence. She is a former contract junior lecturer of Academic Literacy at the North-West University.
